Roundup: 4 Companies Making a Difference
We’re really excited about deploying our first two grants to Markhaven Home for Seniors and HomesFirst Shelter’s Willowdale Welcome Centre last week.
It’s also been wonderful to see Canadian companies contribute to the fight against COVID in their own unique ways.
There are so many amazing initiatives out there that we wanted to call attention to a few of them, spanning the worlds of design, fashion, tech, and food & beverage.
- Global (but Toronto-born) Interior Design firm Yabu Pushelberg has raised almost $75,000 to provide PPE to hospitals in Toronto and New York.
Willful, a Toronto-based startup that makes it quick and easy to create a will online, has donated over two thousand will package to healthcare workers. If estate planning is something you’ve been putting off, consider using their services.
Canadian intimates brand Knix has also been sourcing PPE. They’ve been working with their existing suppliers and sourcing funding through GoFundMe.
- They’re far from the only distillery to do so, but Ontario-based Dillon’s Gin started using their facilities to make hand sanitizer at the start of the pandemic.
We’re continuing to follow these positive developments, and we would love to keep featuring companies making a difference in Canada and around the world.
